Drying equipment and why is it important

SERVPRO of St. Charles City was called in to this St. Charles County home to help with water mitigation services. We have been asked before why we have to add drying equipment to flooring and walls, wondering why the water can’t just evaporate on its own. Our answer is detailed but basically secondary damage is the reason for needing drying equipment. Damage that happens after the initial damage is considered secondary, i.e., mold growth. The evaporation process of water is slower than the rat in which mold grows. Adding air movement and dehumidification quickens the evaporation of the left-over water. Without the water, the mold will not be able to grow assuring that there is no secondary damage.
